Love Across Time
A Dual-Timeline Christian Romance Rooted in Faith, Hope, and Lasting Love
By Helena Smrcek

A bundle of WWII love letters. A modern-day discovery. Two hearts connected across generations.

When practical real estate investor Nick Mass inherits his grandparents’ home, he stumbles upon a collection of heartfelt letters written during the Second World War. Each page reveals a powerful love story between a young woman waiting at home and the soldier who risked everything for her. Determined to uncover the truth, Nick enlists the help of Joy Christenson, a spirited local historian with a deep love for stories of the past.

As the two work together to trace the legacy hidden in the letters, their journey weaves between past and present—between war-torn love and modern longing. What begins as a historical inquiry soon becomes personal, challenging Nick and Joy to open their hearts to second chances, divine timing, and the possibility that love truly never dies.

Love Across Time is an emotionally rich novella that explores how God’s love bridges generations, how healing comes through truth, and how timeless romance can bloom when we least expect it.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet dual time slip romance Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2025 I absolutely loved this time slip double love story! We move between 1944 and 2044. 1944 finds us with Gabriel and Beth. They meet during the war and it’s pretty much instant love. Then in 2024, we find Nick and Joy. They’re trying to decide what to do to a house. They have differing ideas. When looking through the house, Joy found an old tin filled with love letters and a train. She reads through all the letters and not only wants to see how it all ends, but also wants to see if she can’t find any family of this couple. I won’t spoil anymore, but grab this book! Now! I loved it!Jennifer Harty
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Finding love in hard places Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2025 This is a new author to me, but I enjoyed this story very much. I have always had a soft spot for WW2 stories and veterans. They sacrificed much and this story is an example of that sacrifice and courage. The dual-time line was an interesting twist; I don’t usually read those plot, but this one held my interest throughout. Gabriel and Beth, Nick and Beth, and Noel were brought together to give us an endearing story of love at Christmas.April Wilson
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars It simply makes you appreciate delightful people. Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2025 I love a good story with wit, honesty, and enough romance to seem both real and enchanting. This well-written novel delivered it all. Easy to follow, with enough intrigue and surprises to keep you reading into the night. Favorite quote: “If I knew you better, I would say you tend to worry a lot. Since I don’t know you that well, I’m choosing to believe that this is one of your less positive days.” (by Joy)Rodney Combs
