  • This was a really sweet second chance romance story! Noah was the perfect man (especially for Abby!) being as kind and genuine as he was. Despite the reader not seeing them together for very long, it's clear that the connection that had 12 years earlier was strong and still a part of who they are. Abby's daughter Charlotte was absolutely precious and I loved the part she played in the story. And of course the two doggos Rosie and Briggs, they were absolute perfection and I loved how they brought the story together. The faith was even stronger in this book than I expected which was a beautiful bonus. All in all I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Jesus, second chances, and doggies!Tawni Suchy
  • A K-9 Mountain Promise is part of the multi-author K-9 Companions inspirational romance series. This heartwarming story pulled me right in and held my attention all the way through. Realistic, easy to cheer for characters, who experience personal growth and healing, drive the story beautifully. I didn't immediately click with Abby, but Noah and six-year-old Charlotte stole my heart from the beginning. The K-9 companions Rosie and Briggs enrich the emotional impact of the story. I love how they help Charlotte heal from the trauma of her parents' divorce and her father's abandonment. I appreciate the strong faith thread with reflections on the importance of forgiveness. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.Carolyn Bryant
  • I adored A K-9 Mountain Promise by Helena Smrcek! The setting comes to life with Smrcek’s descriptive language. I could picture the cabin in the mountains as well as the small townhouse and vet clinic. Hungarian vizsla dogs are a breed I was totally unfamiliar with, so I loved getting to know Noah’s.Christy
  • My heart is just full of love for this sweet story of 2nd chances and forgiveness! "Sigh" Some of it made me want to cry and some made me laugh out loud. I have a few of my favorite scenes that did that. All wonderful characters but it was Rosie and Briggs that were my favorite characters. They made me want to reach through the pages to pet and hug them. Beautiful dogs. I learned a lot about these dogs. Id never heard of them before I read this sweet story of love. Lori Parrish

  • After her divorce, Abby Clifford moves back to the childhood home she had inherited. She hopes a new start will be what her daughter, Charlotte, needs. Abby did not look forward to seeing her old boyfriend, Noah Ross. Noah and his two Vizsla dogs bond with Charlotte, helping her adjust to the move. Abby is unsure how she feels about that bond. Can Abby and Noah find their way back to each other with the help of her delightful little girl and a pair of adorable Vizslas? Or, will past misunderstandings and actions keep them apart?Carolyn Frazier
  • This was a sweet story of second chances and a few healed hearts. There was so much brokenness but God restored and healed as only He can do. A wounded heart can get hardened if not taken care of. But the Lord, through prayer and seeking, has the ability and the love to heal the wounded parts of our lives. And that is exactly what Helena showed us through Noah and Abby’s and even little Charlotte’s journey. This book is so worth reading. You will fall in love with Helena’s characters and her story.Kimberly Heck
  • I received this book as an ARC with no expectations of a positive review. I fell in love with this story. Abby and Charlotte leave St. Louis to start a new life in her hometown. When they arrive, they find Noah with his two dogs Briggs and Rosie. Noah had been renting the house after her parents had died. Abby did not expect to find him at the house. Abby and Noah had been high school sweethearts until prom night. Join Abby and Charlotte as they heal from abandonment and divorce while they start over. This is such a feel good wonderful story that will find you laughing and smiling.Debra
